Smooth Upgrader
Gentoo Linux just released version 2006.0 yesterday. So, I spent some time to upgrade to the newest stuff. Finally, Gentoo had Wordpress 2.0.1. I’ve been waiting for some time to get the newest version. My wife’s been on my back about dumping Coppermine and getting Gallery. However, the really nice Gallery plugin for Wordpress only works with version 2+ so I’ve been holding off on the Gallery upgrade. Hopefully, I’ll be able to move to Gallery this weekend and dump the horrid UI that is known as Coppermine. The Wordpress upgrade was as smooth as butter and took a total of 20 minutes to get everything prepared and complete. Only one plugin I was using is having problems in WP2.0 and it’s mainly because the developer is being lazy about supporting it. All but one plugin that I don’t even use much is working. Nice.
